Dr. Andrew Pace

Dr. Andrew Pace joined Barkfield Animal Hospital in July, 2018. Dr. Pace was born and raised in Douglasville, GA, which is also where he was working as an associate veterinarian since 2013. He graduated from UGA School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 with a concentration in small animals. His focus of practice is in small animal medicine and surgery.

He has a wife, Carly, a daughter, Lila, and son, Clark. As a family they love grilling out, playing at the park, and swimming. They also have one rescue dog: a Golden Retriever mix named Lemonade. In his spare time Dr. Pace enjoys golfing and cheering on Atlanta sport teams & UGA football.

Dr. Lisa Nilsen

Dr. Lisa Nilsen

Dr. Lisa Nilsen is a graduate of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 1989. She and her husband Steve (also a veterinarian, UGACVM 1989) have 2 adult children; Lindsey is a UGA graduate and is currently completing her first year in law school in Charleston, SC, while Matthew, a GA Tech graduate (house divided 😄), completed his Computer Science degree with honors and will be employed as a Software Development Engineer with Microsoft in Redmond, WA.

When not working, Dr. Nilsen and her husband enjoy spending time with family, reading, and traveling. Their family is completed by a rescue dog, Sophie (Papillon mix) and 3 rescue cats: Posey (14), Maverick (6), and Gina (3, paraplegic and precious).

Dr. Amy Crutchfield

Dr. Crutchfield is a proud double dawg earning both her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. After graduation, Dr. Crutchfield practiced small animal and emergency medicine in Tallahassee for nearly four years.  Dr. Crutchfield returned to Georgia to start a family in 2018 and joined the Barkfield team in 2024.

She spends her free time baking, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and exploring North Georgia with her husband, Tripp, two kids, and rescue dogs, Jessie and Riley (both named after Disney characters).
